Australia and Germany.The RoleThe Category Lead will be focused on
developing, implementing, and administering the Category Management
function for a select group of categories within OSI's Supply
Chain. This role is accountable for establishing a category
management strategy based on available data that will effectively
support OSI's current and future purchased products and services.
Activities include analyzing data, strategic sourcing, conducting
competitive procurements, contract negotiation/management and
vendor performance management.Key Responsibilities
- Accountable to support the development and implement long-term
supply strategies for purchased parts critical to OSI's core
product offerings.
- Identify a supply strategy based on a category management
model, strategically source, select, and support the negotiation,
and execution of long-term supply contracts.
- Ability to lead categories of supply from tip to tale including
but not limited to understanding programmatic requirements, demand
analytics, strategic sourcing, order management, deep stakeholder
collaboration, risk management and continuous improvements.
- Fundamental understanding of procurement practices including
RFI, RFQ, and RFP. Knowledge of the practical application on the
varying levels of complexity and rigor that may be used pending the
volume and complexity of a Scope of Work.
- Conduct contract management of complex supply contracts,
leveraging supplier performance management best practices.
- Support and lead aspects of the negotiation of complex supply
contracts, understand key terms and conditions and ability to
create a negotiation strategy/plan to arrive at a mutually
beneficial executed agreement.
- Strategically source new potential suppliers, lead the
evaluation, and qualify capabilities which may involve visiting
supplier facilities.
- Ensure supplier relationships maintain focus on achieving OSI's
strategic objectives and support product delivery while maintaining
a positive and mutually beneficial outcome to support supply chain
longevity. This includes measuring supplier success through KPIs,
setting targets, facilitating continuous improvements, and
completing supplier scorecards.
- Collaborate closely with PMO, Production and Support to
understand organizational requirements, release, and schedule
purchase orders to support programmatic and production requirements
and OSI's inventory management strategy.
- Ability to organize and chair meetings on complicated subjects,
steering participants to focus on agenda item, satisfying the
objective and communicate agreed actions. Meetings may be internal
or external and attendees may include a broad range of seniority,
up to and include executive level participants.
- Manage the return of defective material to OEMs and suppliers
and be responsible for timely disposition of materials that require
vendor repairs or replacement, including returns through the
Material Review Board process.
- Maintain and enforce supply chain governance documentation
which may include policies, procedures, and work-instructions. This
includes ensuring that all purchase requisitions are complete and
properly approved; and that corporate procedures for agreement
review, authorization, execution, recording, and filing are
followed.
- Produce periodic statistical reporting and KPI's, as
required.
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of category
products.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, theoretical and practical
understanding of Material Requirements Planning and how to leverage
system functionality to provide efficient and accurate supply chain
practices.You Bring
- A university degree in an appliable discipline with a minimum
of five years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management
roles or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification or Designation in Supply Chain Management
preferred, such as: CPIM, SCMP, CPSM, P.Log etc.
- Experience working with complex processes, standards and
specifications in areas such as lean manufacturing, ISO, JIT and
MRP/ERP (experience with Epicor is an asset).
- Experience managing Purchase Orders, supplier contracts, RFX
and vendor scorecards.
- Experience conducting procurements and managing supply
contracts in engineering/technical environments, preferably in
manufacturing or product development of industrial, commercial, or
